With today’s Groupon to Epicurious Kids Cookery on Crowfoot Crescent Northwest. Choose between two options:

  • For $18, you get a single children’s cooking lesson (up to a $65 value).
  • For $75, you get five children’s cooking lessons in five weeks (up to a $195 value).

From the confines of a well-equipped studio kitchen, Epicurious Kids Cookery fosters a passion for the culinary arts in children ages 3–14. Single-lesson sessions introduce chefs 7 years and older to baking and decorating butterfly and ladybug cupcakes in their natural habitat ($40), and King Neptune’s Cheese Ravioli ($45) or Fresh Pasta with Pesto Perfecto ($65) school those 8 years and older on the process of cutting or rolling pasta, giving it a plausible back story, and crafting its accompanying sauce.

Five-week lessons, featuring one class per week, introduce cooking concepts to tots ages 3–5 in Sweet Peas through parent-child cooperation with graphic recipe cards for instruction ($150). Each lesson focuses on food preparation before moving on to group activities, such as singing or storytelling. The Honeybees (ages 5–7, $175) and Sprouts (ages 8–11, $175) groups educate kids on nutrition, vegetable-acceptance theory, kitchen safety, and interdisciplinary concepts. Class levels culminate in the culinary achievements of 12- to 14-year-old Growing Gourmets, who continue to hone parent-free kitchen fundamentals as well as teamwork, academic skills, and exploration of other cultures through cuisine ($195).
