About the Whitewater Rafting Trip
You and your crew will start at the base camp, located just off the popular Upper Red Deer River. For 2.5-hours, you’ll paddle through Class 2 – 4 rapids The water you will be experiencing is Class 2 – 4 rapids, with fitting names like Big Rock, Gooseberry, S. Bends, The Nationals, Rock Garden, and Sauna Hole. The season runs through the Labour Day long weekend, and non-swimmers are welcome, as every trip is led by a certified whitewater rafting guide. You’ll also get a wetsuit, lifejacket, helmet, paddling jacket, fleece, wet shoes, and gloves.
About the Hike
Fittingly meaning “high prarie” in Cree, Ya Ha Tinda will take you up through Alberta’s beautiful west country. This wildlife sanctuary is home to elk, a horse ranch, and numerous flora and fauna. Your hike also includes a visit to two scenic waterfalls and the chance to experience natural water slides.
