Lakeside Golf Club
555 Lakeside Greens Drive
Chestermere, Alberta T1X 1C5
Between its location on the shore of Chestermere Lake and 11 ponds sprinkled throughout the course, water is the dominating feature of Lakeside Golf Club. Players should use the first hole—a fairly straightforward par 4—to warm up for signature water features on the second and third. An early par 3, the second hole requires a tee shot into a green that’s surrounded by water on nearly every side. The par 5 third hole flips the idea, leading golfers out onto an island tee box for their drives into the narrow, S-shaped fairway. Such hazards are a factor on another 11 holes throughout the course, leaving golfers little room for error as they thread their golf balls along the 6,744-yard layout. After holing out on the 18th and bowing respectfully to their vanquished opponents, players can head into the 15,000-square-foot clubhouse for a victory lunch at The Point Restaurant.
