Within a few years of Shawarma Knight’s opening in 2007, the community’s positive response allowed the casual Mediterranean eatery to open a second location. At both spots, the kitchen staff prepares shish kabob, falafel platters, shawarma, and other Mediterranean staples. The main courses are supplemented by an array of traditional sides, including meat pies and hummus, then polished off with baklava for dessert. Cooks also use the Mediterranean’s fresh, imitable ingredients on the eatery’s specialty pizzas, which boast topping combos such as spinach and feta cheese, shawarma and garlic sauce, and bacon and black olives arranged in the shape of popular Roman emperors.
