Edges Salon & Spa’s aestheticians perform 15 minutes of face mapping to analyze skin conditions in specific face areas, which they then use to formulate custom treatments from one of four Dermalogica facials. At the start of the signature spa facial, a staff member blends botanical mixers and applies them to the client’s neck and face to cleanse pores. Therapists then calm muscles during a décolleté massage before soothing skin with exfoliation, extraction, and a custom mask in a bat or spider pattern. The medicated clearing facial purifies epidermises through a deep cleanse, pressure-point massage, and mask formulated for purification, and the ultracalming treatment is aimed at assuaging inflammations in sensitive skin. Skin physicians slather faces in lactic acid, enzymes, and an antioxidant mask during the Age Smart facial, aiming to slow signs of aging, such as pigmentation, wrinkles, and spontaneous tweed jackets.
Clients can follow up on their in-spa treatment with prescribed home care packages, which include a week’s worth of Dermalogica formula samples. Product selections may vary based on the chosen facial, as therapists cater the package to the client’s skin concerns, much like florists cater their bouquets to a client’s fear of tulips.
