Today’s Groupon to Stampede Beer & Wine Festival, held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, July 9, at NGA Golf Dome. Choose between the following options:

• For $25, you get one general-admission ticket (a $50 value).
• For $125, you get a VIP Stampede Boss pass (a $250 value).

The Stampede Beer & Wine Festival ferments a flavourful frontier of more than 150 international wines and beers under the National Golf Academy’s sweeping white dome. General-admission tickets grant guests entrance to the action, and a VIP Stampede Boss pass grants VIP parking, front-of-the-line event entry, and unlimited drink sampling to make each patron feel as important as the prime minister at a soda fountain. Festival-goers dive into piquant pours, sampling the main event of more than 75 local and international brews. Two-ounce taste tumblers provide ample reflection time, and 75 global wines and a gallery of spirits sits ready for those with Pavlovian hops aversion. While introducing taste buds to new brews, peruse the vendor-supplied charity auction or enter the raffle for a chance at snagging the highly coveted beer-filled refrigerator.

General-admission fete frequenters will have to purchase their own beer and wine tickets ($0.50 each) once at the festival but may also put tickets toward the festival’s drink-harmonizing fare. Kinjo Sushi and Pizza Delight fill stomach harbours with fleets of food items ranging from one piece of sushi (one ticket) to a slice of pizza (four tickets). In between sipping and snacking, browse vendor banners, pastoral murals, and wheat statuettes while enjoying dance-muscle-impelling live music from Ron Burke and Alittle Voodoo.
